Welcome to the Client Closet!
If you've ever had family photos done, you know that planning outfits can be the most stressful part, and I've always known that I wanted to alleviate that stress for moms. Through the client closet and our hands-on styling, we help clients make great choices with confidence, so they can relax, enjoy their session and love the way they look!.
After years of doing this, I have learned the styles of clothing that are the most flattering, complement the poses and prompts I use best, and will be easiest to move in with your family so you won't be pulling and tugging at your clothes.
Meet Samantha,
Head Stylist
Samantha is a talented colorist by day, and is excited to join Stefanie Cole Photography as head stylist! She works with virtually styled families to help style their session perfectly. As a former client and mom of two herself, she understands the needs and challenges of dressing yourself as well as how to make you look your best. She will help you every step of the way in planning, from sending over full styling proposals, making small adjustments, as well as providing assistance with reserving your items.
custom styling to help you feel and look your best
We love to provide our clients with complimentary professional styling!
We recommend reaching out to begin styling at least 3-5 weeks before your session. This ensures we have plenty of time to source, order, return, etc without feeling stressed.
We REQUIRE at least two weeks for custom styling services.
If you’ve missed the two week window, we can offer feedback and recommendations.
If you decide to do the styling on your own, we are still happy to provide feedback and recommendations!
Ready to start styling? You have two ways to do it.
IN-PERSON STYLING
Come to the Shelton studio to try-on items and get styled in-person by Stefanie.
VIRTUAL STYLING/AT-HOME TRY-ON:
You can reserve items to pickup curbside in Trumbull and take home to try on if you'd like. Once you know what you'd like to wear, you will fill out our questionnaire and then work with our stylist at instagram.com/scpstylist to plan the full family. If you are confident with sizing, you can of course skip trying on!
EITHER WAY, we recommend choosing YOUR outfit (or whoever in your family is hardest to dress). This will ensure you are happy with how you look and love your photos!

FAQ
+ What do you carry?
My client focuses on women and girls, since they are the hardest to find. I carry pieces that are universally flattering, photograph well, and coordinate with each other. I also carry a few staple pieces for men and boys.
+ Is there a charge to use the client closet?
No! It is a complimentary service that is included in your session fee.
+ What sizes do you carry?
I'm very proud to have an inclusive client closet that carries ALL sizes. If you do not see something that will work for you, I'm always happy to work with you on finding something that will!
+ How do I get the dresses?
If you're confident in sizing (most of my dresses fit a wide range of sizes), I can bring it to your session to dress on-location. If you'd prefer to try it on in advance, you can pick them up curbside in Trumbull ahead of time. Reservation windows can be found on the client closet page of the website.
+ I live far from you, how does styling work?
For clients traveling from a distance, we can bring items to your session to get dressed on location if you are confident on size and fit. If you'd prefer to try things on in advance, we recommend you buy your own items and we are happy to help virtually style you and choose items for purchase.
+ Do I have to clean or dryclean the items after the session?
Nope, I will handle all of that! Just bring something to change into, and hand me the dresses before you leave.
+ Do you rent out dresses?
Unfortunately, I do not currently rent dresses out to be used for sessions with other photographers, personal events, etc.
