Fresh 48 Hospital Sessions
Capture all of the details you won’t want to forget.
Fresh 48 Hospital Photography Sessions
Fresh 48 sessions are a beautiful complement or alternative to a posed newborn session, providing an intimate glimpse into your baby's first few hours. Images will be taken in a documentary style of photography, focusing on raw and unposed moments to tell the story of the day. All of the tiny details that you may be too tired to remember will be captured, and your session can be scheduled to capture family members meeting the baby for the first time.
Don't trust these precious images to just anyone; they are truly irreplaceable!
What’s included:
Hospital visit within 48 hours of birth - poses of baby alone as well as parents/siblings. The all-inclusive gallery of edited digital images (at least 50).
Pricing:
Fresh 48 Hospital Session: $1500
When to book:
Because of the on-call nature of these sessions, I take on a very limited amount per year. I recommend booking very early in your pregnancy to ensure availability.

Once your contract and retainer is submitted, your due date will be penciled in and I will be “on-call”. I ask that a parent reaches out as soon as possible once they know that baby is coming (or once baby is here) so I can shuffle my schedule if needed. I will do my best to offer you options that will be convenient for your family, but do ask that clients keep in mind that appointments sometimes need to work around my other commitments. If you are hoping to capture family members meeting the baby, I’m happy to work with you on coordinating that.
-
For the two weeks leading up to your birth and one week after, I will not make any travel plans to ensure I am available. I will still continue to take on other jobs, but will ensure I have either a morning or afternoon chunk of time available each day.
-
I do my best to work efficiently so that you can get back to bonding and resting as soon as possible. Sessions can sometimes be done as quickly as 30 minutes, or can take up to an hour if we are coordinating a sibling meeting or if we are interrupted with medical visits.
-
My personal preference is to capture hospital sessions as close to as they actually are as possible - the details of the hospital provided wrap and hat are something I love. Some families choose to bring a letterboard or simple sign, a wrap in a special print, or their own onesie and these are all beautiful ways to add a personal touch to your pictures! Props, crocheted hats, or full outfits are not used during hospital sessions, and should be saved for your posed session.
-
This is truly a personal preference, and also may be dependent on how you are feeling. Some moms stay in their hospital gown, others bring a comfortable jersey robe, and some feel best getting dressed in regular clothes. There is no wrong answer, and you should choose what you will feel best in!
-
Again, this is truly dependent on personal preference and how you are feeling. Some moms go 100% natural, and others have full hair and makeup done - whatever makes you feel best is the best choice!

Yale New Haven Hospital, Danbury Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, and Stamford Hospital are hospitals I work in often, but I’m happy to go anywhere and am available for travel. There may be an additional fee for travel over an hour.
