My Favorite Fairfield County, CT Locations: Beach

There may be nothing better than family photos at the beach!  I love all of the positive associations when I look at beach photos - I can almost smell the salt water, and feel the sand in my feet.  We are SO lucky to have such beautiful beaches nearby here on the coastline of Connecticut.

My favorite beaches are in Westport and Milford, but I also love to use Fairfield and Meriden for clients who prefer those locations!  When choosing the perfect beach for your family, I try to find beaches that don't get too busy, are a short walk to the car, and offer a lot of variety and shade.   When the sun is still high, we spend a lot of time in the dunes (the sun sets behind them and it is stunning!), and as the sun drops we move to the beach for water views.  I always encourage my families to bring a change of clothes and end their shoot in the water - it's a little bit of extra work, but oh so worth it!  The one downside of a beach shoot is that the sun sets pretty late which can be tough on little ones - but I promise we will wear them out, and they'll sleep well for you after!

When styling your beach shoot, keep the colors very soft and neutral - it is such a subtle backdrop, that too much coloring can be overpowering.  Flowy dresses will give your family the movement that my photos are known for, and are so comfortable and easy to move in!
